James Cohan Gallery is proud to present an evening of readings in conjunction with our first solo exhibition by California-based artist Bill Owens. "Bill Owens: America," opening on July 5th and running through September 24, will consist of photographs from the four bodies of work for which he is best known, Suburbia, Working (I do it for the money), Our kind of people and Leisure.NICOLE BURDETTE is a playwright "Chelsea Walls", actor (River Runs Through It) and co-founder of Naked Angels Theater Company, New York. She will read original poems from her new work 'America as Paradise'.
DANA GOODYEAR is an editor at the New Yorker, where she is also a frequent contributer. She will read from her first book of poems Honey and Junk, recently published by W.W. Norten.
ELIZA GRISWOLD will read from her first collection of poems forthcoming from Farrar Strauss Giroux 2007. She is a journalist who was written for The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, Harper's and the New York Times Magazine.
Readings will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
