James Cohan is pleased to announce the appointment of Sascha Feldman as Director, focusing on artist management and sales. Feldman joins James Cohan from Sikkema Jenkins & Co., where she has worked since 2011, most recently holding the position of Director. She brings over a decade of experience advocating for and advancing the careers of leading international artists.

In her new role as Director, Feldman will work in close collaboration with other members of the gallery’s leadership to support and expand James Cohan’s artistic program and enrich the gallery’s relationships with institutions, organizations, and private collectors around the world. Since joining Sikkema Jenkins & Co. in 2011, Feldman has experienced the gallery from multiple vantage points, serving as a sales representative and artist liaison. She studied Art History at Sarah Lawrence College in New York and attended The Courtauld Institute of Art in London, graduating with a Masters in Curatorial Studies. Feldman has sat on the Guggenheim Museum’s Young Collectors Council Acquisitions Committee since 2018.

“Having known and admired Sascha’s work at Sikkema Jenkins for many years, we are delighted to welcome her to the team at James Cohan,” says Jim Cohan. “Her appointment as Director allows us to meet the growing needs of our artists while pursuing ambitious opportunities for them by strengthening and expanding institutional relationships. Sascha brings a diverse set of strengths honed during her time at Sikkema Jenkins—from artist management and exhibition planning to art fairs and sales strategy—that enables us to build our reach while ensuring that our artists remain at the center of everything we do as a gallery.”

“I am thrilled to join the team at James Cohan, whose program I have long admired for its ambitious international scope,” says Feldman. “I feel a deep affinity with the gallery's belief in placing established and emerging artists in conversation in order to seek out unexpected links between contrasting practices and backgrounds.  It is an exciting time to join the gallery, both in light of their recent expansion and in their thoughtful, enthusiastic support of the next generation of artists.”

Feldman’s appointment comes on the heels of a period of considerable growth for James Cohan. In October 2022, the gallery opened a new 5,000 square foot location in Tribeca. The new space, on the second floor of the historic 52 Walker Street building and adjacent to James Cohan’s 48 Walker Street location, was inaugurated by a solo exhibition of work by Gauri Gill. In the past two years, the gallery has added a number of artists to its roster, including Gill, Monir Sharoudy Farmanfarmaian, Eamon Ore-Giron, Christopher Myers, and Naudline Pierre.
