Congratulations to Firelei Báez on the virtual opening of Artes Mundi 9, on view online from March 15 through September 5. The exhibition features the work of six artists shortlisted for the prestigious Artes Mundi Prize, the largest international contemporary art prize in the United Kingdom.

The exhibition will open to the public at the National Museum of Cardiff when Wales returns to Tier 2 restrictions. In the interim, visitors can explore the exhibition through guided video walkthroughs of each artist’s presentation, accessible online beginning today.

The Artes Mundi 9 Prize winner announcement will take place digitally on Thursday, April 15. Alongside Firelei Báez, shortlisted artists include Dineo Seshee Bopape, Meiro Koizumi, Beatriz Santiago Muñoz, Prabhakar Pachpute and Carrie Mae Weems.
