Wim Wenders' Pina Nominated for Best Documentary
European Film Awards

Wim Wenders’ acclaimed 3D dance documentary, Pina, a tribute to the life and work of the late choreographer, Pina Bausch, has been nominated for the European Film Academy’s (EFA) Documentary Prix Arte award.Wim Wenders’ acclaimed 3D dance documentary, Pina, a tribute to the life and work of the late choreographer, Pina Bausch, has been nominated for the European Film Academy’s (EFA) Documentary Prix Arte award. The film represents the culmination of an obsession with Pina's work that began when Wenders first saw her Tanztheater in 1984.

The EFA committee includes Nik Powell, director of the NFTS and deputy chairman of the EFA Board; EFA Board Member Despina Mouzaki; EFA Member Francine Brücher; Claas Danielsen (International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film); Ally Derks (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam); Jacques Laurent and ARTE-observer Martin Pieper.

The ceremony will take place on December 3, 2011 in Berlin, Germany.

Pina has also been nominated in the Foreign Independent Film category at the British Independent Film Awards. The awards will be handed out at a London ceremony on December 3rd.
