Presented by Minetta Brook and the Whitney Museum of American Art

Floating Island, a realization of Robert Smithson's proposal for the New York waterfront, will travel around the island of Manhattan for ten days in September. It will be visible from the shorelines of the Hudson, Harlem and East Rivers.

September 17-25, 2005
Opening Event: Saturday, Spetember 17, 5-7pm Pier 46 at Charles Street.

SPECIAL ALERT!!!

Due to the ban on river traffic above 23rd Street caused by the US Assembly, the island will not be able to travel north of 23rd Street.
